Hi, I'm Alison, a newly retired teacher exploring my love for knitting and the sea! I decided to open Handmade in Herne Bay after creating Olly Octopus, one of my unique acrylic wool creations, for my granddaughter, Bella. Since then, we've also made Peter Puffin, Dolly Dolphin, and Susan Seagull as part of my collection of custom soft toys. No two handmade knitted toys are exactly alike, but all are crafted with love.
All my acrylic wool creations are made from 100% machine washable materials (other wools can be used on request, though price may vary). The eyes on my custom soft toys are sewn on to eliminate any choking hazard associated with detachable buttons, ensuring safety for all. Each piece, including my handmade knitted toys, reflects quality and care in its design.
